The Best Robotics ETFs of 2026, Compared

Every US-listed robotics ETF ranked by size, with live assets, fees and yields, and a plain-English look at what each fund is really betting on.

For most of the last decade, investors who wanted robotics exposure had two main choices: BOTZ and ROBO. That changed fast. Humanoid robots, physical AI and robotaxis pulled in a wave of new launches, and there are now 25 robotics-focused ETFs on our list holding a combined $19.1B.

They are not all the same bet. Below is every fund we track, ranked by assets, with live numbers and what makes each one different. This list is for research, not a recommendation to buy or sell anything.

Each fund, ranked by assets

1. $AIQ: Global X Artificial Intelligence & Technology ETF

Global X · Index · $10.0B in assets · 0.68% expense ratio · launched May 11, 2018

Global X's AI and technology ETF is the largest fund on our list. It tracks companies developing and using AI, including the chip, cloud and software giants plus robotics and automation names.

Worth knowing: This is a broad AI fund rather than a pure robotics fund. It holds many of the same mega-cap tech stocks found in a Nasdaq index fund.

Full $AIQ profile and live price →

2. $BOTZ: Global X Robotics & Artificial Intelligence ETF

Global X · Index · $3.10B in assets · 0.68% expense ratio · launched September 12, 2016

The largest and best-known robotics ETF. BOTZ tracks an index of companies that make industrial robots, automation systems, surgical robots and the AI software and chips behind them, with heavy weightings in the US and Japan.

Worth knowing: It is fairly concentrated, so a handful of large AI chip and automation names drive a big share of returns. Overlap with broad tech funds is meaningful.

3. $ROBO: ROBO Global Robotics & Automation Index ETF

Exchange Traded Concepts (ROBO Global) · Index · $1.90B in assets · 0.95% expense ratio · launched October 22, 2013

The original robotics ETF, launched in 2013. ROBO tracks the ROBO Global Robotics and Automation Index, which spreads money across a wide mix of robotics, sensing, motion control and automation companies around the world.

Worth knowing: Its holdings are more equally spread than most peers, which means more small and mid-size companies. That diversifies the bet but also means it can lag when a few mega-cap AI names lead the market. It carries one of the higher fees in the group.

Full $ROBO profile and live price →

4. $ARKQ: ARK Autonomous Technology & Robotics ETF

ARK Invest · Active · $1.75B in assets · 0.75% expense ratio · launched September 30, 2014

ARK's autonomous technology and robotics fund is an actively managed bet on autonomous vehicles, robotics, 3D printing, energy storage and space exploration, run in ARK's high-conviction style.

Worth knowing: Holdings are concentrated and can include large positions in a few names like electric vehicle and autonomy companies. It behaves more like a growth and disruption fund than a pure robotics index.

Full $ARKQ profile and live price →

5. $ROBT: First Trust Nasdaq Artificial Intelligence and Robotics ETF

First Trust · Index · $735M in assets · 0.65% expense ratio · launched February 21, 2018

First Trust's Nasdaq AI and robotics ETF tracks companies classified as AI and robotics enablers, engagers and enhancers, with a fairly equal-weighted approach.

Worth knowing: Its equal weighting spreads money across many mid-size names. That limits mega-cap concentration but can lag when the biggest AI stocks lead.

Full $ROBT profile and live price →

6. $THNQ: ROBO Global Artificial Intelligence ETF

Exchange Traded Concepts (ROBO Global) · Index · $484M in assets · 0.68% expense ratio · launched May 11, 2020

Full $THNQ profile and live price →

Full $LOUP profile and live price →

VanEck · Index · $100M in assets · 0.47% expense ratio · launched April 5, 2023

VanEck's robotics ETF tracks companies that earn a large share of revenue from robotics, including industrial and collaborative robots, the software that runs them and key enabling technologies.

Full $DRNZ profile and live price →

13. $IQM: Franklin Intelligent Machines ETF

Franklin Templeton · Active · $74M in assets · 0.50% expense ratio · launched February 25, 2020

Franklin's intelligent machines ETF is an actively managed fund investing in companies behind intelligent machines: robotics, automation, sensors and the chips and software that power them.

Worth knowing: It often holds large positions in AI chip and semiconductor equipment names, so it can trade much like a tech growth fund. It pays little or no dividend.

Full $IQM profile and live price →

Themes ETFs · Index · $59M in assets · 0.35% expense ratio · launched April 22, 2024

Themes ETFs' humanoid robotics fund offers low-cost index exposure to companies tied to humanoid robots, including robot makers and their hardware and AI suppliers.

Full $UBOT profile and live price →

How to choose between them

Decide how pure you want it. Funds like $BOTZ, $ROBO and $IBOT stay close to robotics and automation. Funds like $AIQ and $THNQ are broader AI funds where robotics is one slice next to chips, cloud and software.

Decide how early you want to be. Humanoid funds like $KOID, $HUMN and $BOTT bet on a market that barely exists yet. Many of their holdings are component makers whose revenue still comes mostly from cars, factories and electronics.

Check size and trading. Many of the newest funds hold only a few million dollars. Small funds can have wide bid-ask spreads and a higher chance of closing.

Watch the overlap. Big AI chip and automation names show up in many of these funds. Owning three robotics ETFs may not be as diversified as it looks.

Know what leverage does. $UBOT seeks 2X the daily return of its index and resets daily. It is a trading tool, not a long-term holding for most investors.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best robotics ETF?

There is no single best fund. They differ on focus (industrial automation vs. humanoids vs. broad AI), management style, fees and size. Compare them on those points and match them to what you want to own. Nothing here is a recommendation.

What is the largest robotics ETF?

BOTZ is the largest pure robotics ETF. AIQ is bigger, but it is a broad AI fund that includes robotics rather than a robotics fund. Assets change daily, so check the live table.

What is the oldest robotics ETF?

ROBO launched in October 2013 and is the oldest robotics ETF still trading.

Are robotics ETFs good for income?

Not really. Most yield under 1% and pay once or twice a year. They are growth funds.
